This Privacy Policy applies to the mobile applications, support pages, and related services operated by for participant-facing research workflows. Some features may be enabled only for certain studies. If a feature is not enabled for a study, the related data may not be collected.

In many deployments, the study sponsor, research institution, investigator, healthcare organization, or study site determines how participant research data is used. In those cases, acts as a service provider or processor on behalf of that organization.

2. Information We May Collect

Depending on the study configuration and participant actions, we may collect the following categories of information:

Account and study access information, such as participant identifiers, access keys, study links, authentication tokens, and assigned schedules.
Survey and study-task information, such as answers to REDCap-backed forms, instrument responses, event completion status, timestamps, and protocol progress.
Device-generated health or research measurements, such as carbon monoxide, temperature, blood pressure, pulse oximetry, or similar supported readings collected through connected Bluetooth devices.
Media and evidence files, such as photos, audio, or video, if a study enables those workflows for task verification, documentation, or submission.
Device and technical information, such as device model, operating system, app version, build number, IP address, crash or diagnostic information, language, time zone, and push notification token.
Bluetooth and nearby-device related information needed to discover, pair, connect to, and receive data from supported devices.
Approximate or device-level location permission signals only where needed by the operating system to support Bluetooth discovery or related app functionality.

3. How We Use Information

Provide participant access to assigned study activities, schedules, and REDCap-backed content.
Collect, display, validate, and transmit survey responses and supported device measurements.
Send reminders, alerts, and operational messages related to scheduled study tasks.
Provide technical support, troubleshoot issues, and improve app reliability and usability.
Protect the security, integrity, and availability of the app and related services.
Comply with legal obligations, institutional requirements, and research governance standards.

4. Permissions and Device Access

The app may request permissions that are relevant to the study workflow, including:

Bluetooth access to discover, pair with, and receive data from supported connected devices.
Camera access when the study requires photo or video capture.
Microphone access when the study requires audio capture as part of video workflows.
Notification permission so participants can receive study reminders and task prompts.
Location-related permission when required by the mobile operating system for Bluetooth discovery. We do not use Bluetooth scanning to provide third-party advertising or consumer location tracking.

Participants can typically manage these permissions in their device settings. Disabling certain permissions may limit the availability of study features.

5. How Information Is Shared

We may share information in the following ways:

With the study sponsor, site, investigators, institution, or authorized personnel responsible for the research project.
With REDCap and related hosting, cloud, storage, messaging, or infrastructure providers that help operate the service.
With service providers who support notifications, security, hosting, diagnostics, or technical operations, subject to confidentiality and contractual restrictions where applicable.
When required by law, court order, regulation, or lawful government request.
In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate protections.

We do not sell personal information collected through the app, and we do not use participant data for third-party advertising.

6. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as necessary to provide the service, meet contractual and research-related obligations, comply with legal requirements, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Research data may also be retained according to the applicable study protocol, institution, sponsor, IRB, or legal retention schedule.

7. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Participant Choices and Rights

Depending on the study and applicable law, participants may have rights to:

Request access to certain information associated with their participation.
Request correction of inaccurate information.
Request deletion where permitted and where retention is not required.
Withdraw from research participation through the study team, subject to protocol requirements.
Manage app permissions through device settings.

Because research data may be controlled by the study sponsor or institution, requests related to study records may need to be directed to the study team or organization identified in the consent materials.

9. International Transfers

Information may be processed or stored in jurisdictions other than the participant's home country. Where required, we take steps intended to provide appropriate safeguards for cross-border data transfers.

10. Children

The app is not directed to children for general consumer use. If a study involves minors, data collection and participation must occur under the procedures, permissions, and approvals applicable to that study.

11. Health and Research Context

The app may be used to support research data collection, remote monitoring, or protocol-based participant tasks. The app itself is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Participants should contact the study team or an appropriate healthcare professional with questions about care or urgent health concerns.
